Deep Tissue Massage is used to release chronic muscle tension through slow, deep strokes with more direct pressure or friction applied with or across the grain of the muscles, slowly working into the deeper layers of muscle tissue. Specific hand positions and strokes are then used to respond to various tissue qualities; breath release and movement may also be used for releasing muscular congestion. A Deep Tissue Session will target a specific area and not the entire body. Deep tissue massage addresses soft tissue dysfunction with slow, painless, but deeply reorganizing fascial strokes and compressions.
